一般现在时表示什么
一般现在时用来说经常做的事情、习惯、事实，或者人和东西现在的状态。
I go to school every day.
He likes apples.
She is a teacher.
be 动词：I 用 am
主语是 I 的时候，be 动词永远用 am。
I am happy.
I am a student.
be 动词：一个人/东西用 is
主语是 he、she、it，或者一个人、一个东西（单数）时，be 动词用 is。
He is tall.
She is kind.
It is small.
Tom is happy.
be 动词：多个人/东西、we/you/they 用 are
主语是 we、you、they，或者多个人、多个东西（复数）时，be 动词用 are；you 不管单数复数永远用 are。
We are friends.
You are nice.
They are students.
The boys are happy.
普通动词：I/You/We/They 通常不变
主语是 I、you、we、they 时，一般现在时的普通动词通常用原形，不需要变化。
I play football.
You play football.
They like apples.
普通动词：He/She/It 通常加 s
主语是 he、she、it，或者一个人、一个东西（单数）时，普通动词后面通常要加 s。
He plays football.
She likes apples.
Tom plays basketball.
一般现在时 vs 现在进行时
一般现在时说的是平时、经常做的事；现在进行时说的是现在正在做的事，结构是 am/is/are 加动词-ing，两者不要混淆。
He plays football every Sunday. (一般现在时，经常踢)
He is playing football now. (现在进行时，现在正在踢)
They play football every Sunday.
They are playing football now.
athletes/fans 后面 are 常常是在构成现在进行时
有时候题目里主语是复数，看起来像考 be 动词，但后面跟的是动词-ing，其实整体是现在进行时，不是单纯的 be 动词句。
The athletes are participating in the race.
The fans are cheering for their favourite team.
容易搞错的地方
I is happy.（❌ 错误）
主语是 I 时不能用 is，只能用 am
❌ I is a student.
I am happy.（✅ 正确）
I 后面的 be 动词永远是 am
✅ I am a student.
The boys is happy.（❌ 错误）
boys 是复数，不能用单数的 is
❌ The cats is cute.
The boys are happy.（✅ 正确）
多个人或东西，be 动词要用 are
✅ The cats are cute.
He play football every day.（❌ 错误）
主语是 he，普通动词忘了加 s
❌ She like apples.
He plays football every day.（✅ 正确）
he/she/it 做主语时，一般现在时的普通动词通常要加 s
✅ She likes apples.
He plays football now.（表达不够准确）
now 表示现在正在做，不能只用一般现在时的动词形式
❌ They play football now.
He is playing football now.（✅ 正确）
现在正在做要用 am/is/are + 动词-ing
✅ They are playing football now.
总结
be 动词：I → am；一个人/东西（he/she/it）→ is；多个人/东西（we/you/they）→ are
普通动词：I/You/We/They → 动词原形；He/She/It → 动词通常加 s
一般现在时说平时、经常做的事；现在进行时（am/is/are + 动词-ing）说现在正在做的事，两者不要混淆
