Sally rubbed her hands together excitedly. She could not wait to start making breakfast. Before taking out a bag of flour, she washed her hands with soap and wiped them on her apron. She held a sieve over a bowl with one hand and spooned flour into it with the other. She was glad she had on an apron or her clothes would have been covered with flour.

Once she had the right amount of flour, she prepared a mixture of eggs and milk. She then poured the mixture into the bowl of flour, whisking it vigorously at the same time. When she was satisfied with the thickness of the batter, she filled the kettle to boil some water.

In the meantime, Sally heated some oil in a pan. When a sizzling sound was heard, she ladled some batter into the pan. Soon a wonderful aroma filled the air. Flipping the batter, she cooked the other side. When both sides were thoroughly cooked, she slid it out of the pan. Sally repeated the same steps until she used up all the batter. Soon, there was a pile of pancakes on the plate. She carried the pancakes into the dining room.

Having been awakened by the appetising smell, Sally's sisters were already waiting eagerly for their breakfast. As they tucked into the pancakes, Sally made a large pot of coffee. Breakfast was a success!
